I apologize. I should have been a little clearer. I'm not looking for a Stud dog to bred.....I'm looking for a nice litter. And just want to know whose the "top" producer right now.


I've heard of Courier & Trapper...Any other dog I should consider???

Blaze definitely seems to throw competitive dogs..He has a dual CH AFC daughter and several QAA and all-age competitive offspring.... it may be hard to find a litter out of him, but there are some Blaze offspring that are being bred....

a hunt test dog that I really like....

Nordom's Apache Rebel - passed 22 MH tests in a row ( has never failed one) and qualified for 4 or 5 MN - also a finisher in the one he entered....

Mike Coutu has a nice litter right now. His email is lcoutu@cox.net just born. Also, Wayne Dibbley has a litter out of AFC Hurricane's Express Courier - pamperedpetpalace@on.aibn.com about the same age. I believe Linda Harger is going to repeat the Aimee X Ben breeding this year.
There are some DM issues in some lines and research is going forward to determine mode of inheritance, etc. There are also some vocalization issues in other lines. Good luck with your puppy search!

I am also in the market for another Chessie pup. I have actually been trying for a stellar pup for over a year now. My top pick was Canvas and I had deposits on 2 different breedings by him that did not take for different reasons. Then DM became an issue. I want a female for hunting, testing, showing and future breeding. Because I want to be a breeder, I am holding off on lines too close to the DM dogs until further research has been done. But there are many people still getting puppies from these lines because there are many great, desirable traits there besides DM.

Personally, I would go with something out of Rebel or the Ben x Aimee breeding, depending on your price range and what you are looking for in a dog. I like Rebel a whole lot. I think Nordoms has a breeding between Rebel and Cooper for this spring.

Other than those superstars, you would do best to check out some of the Chessies in your area. There are some really great dogs out there that are just not being campaigned. Julie R. is in Virginia and she has some really nice dogs. Puffin is wonderful and she may try breeding her this spring as well.
