Default Charcoal Dog Portrait - This Artist is awesome!

Margaret Sabatino did this charcoal drawing of my avatar pic many years ago. It hangs framed in our "duck room", a living room that looks more like a hunting lodge.

After years of having lost touch, I have tracked Margaret down, today in fact. She is still doing portraits. She is very interested in doing portraits for RTF folks.

I've seen her do both charcoal and oil paintings from photos and she does a great job! This image pasted above does not do the original piece justice.

If you are looking for a piece to be done of your dog, Margaret is the one to go to, in my opinion.

Please reply here or PM me if you would like more info on how to work with Margaret on a portrait.

Beautiful Chris!! I like it when the dog's soul shines through. I have great pics of Kate & Bailey (the ones that sit next to their ashes) that I'd love to have done as memorials.

    Thanks!!

She does charcoal and pastel, her favorites and also oil.

Her pricing is very flexible depending upon the intricacy/size of the job, the medium used, and as you can imagine, on the framing (which she farms out to a framer)

I've PM'd her info to a few folks already today and I bet we'll be seeing some more Margaret Sabatino jobs posted on RTF in the future.

I've been on the road all week and I am pretty sure I have provided Margaret's contact info to all of you who have PM'd me.

She knows she may be hearing from some of you.

If you have PM'd me and have not gotten a response, please send me a quick reminder.

    Thanks!

With a flurry of PM activity, I had to clear my Inbox and Sentboxes. (Note, there's a really cool "emty folder" link that clears it all with one click...I love it....Until times like this where I realize there was stuff that I still needed)

I know one or two folks wanted contact info for Margaret. Please drop me a PM if interested.

    Thanks,

    Chris

It turns out that one of my close friends is having a portrait done by Margaret...or at least considering it.

The Champ picture is no longer my Avatar. Since June of 2009, when my good friend Jim Harvey popped this pic of me and Bus at a Lardy Seminar, I've used it as my avatar.

But the pic in the top left in the "RTF logo banner" is the same picture from which Margaret did this portrait.

By the way, I've found a good reason to wear a baggy FT jacket in an Avatar picture. I've met a couple folks who have told me I look thinner in person than in my Avatar pic.

Chris ... Wonder what this would run?

This was the last day of his last season, just a few weeks before Cappy had the cancer surgery that started his downward health spiral.

I was telling him; "Look that way Cap ... that's straight North. All the birds come from that direction each fall and we're already starting to see some heading back there for their spring nesting. If you'll look real close, way to the North ... you'll see a rainbow and a bridge. We'll wait for each other on the other side ... I promise."
Remi and Rusty aren't my whole life, they're just trying to fill the hole in my heart left by Cappy's passing.
