Default Off Topic - Congressional Hearings in Sports

Why is it that there is a need for elected officals to put their intrest in Sports, like Steriods in Baseball, Football, etc. and now with the intrest in Spygate? Wouldn't their time be better spent focusing on more important things say uh the Men and Women Overseas, Economy, Protection of the 2nd Amendment of the Constitution.

I think these are problems that should be handled Inhouse within MLB, NFL, NHL ect. If there are crimes committed then the internal findings should be forwarded to Law Enforcement Authorities.

Just wanted to see if anyone could shed some light on that.

Hope no one is using performance enhancing substances on their pooch.

The hearings are a waste of time that should be spent fixing things that are important to a majority of the nation. They are a gross waste of the taxpayers $$$$.

I actually agreed with the original baseall hearings. The players' union had too much power and refused to implement a testing policy. MLB didn't have the stones to get one in place. It took Congress to step in and get it done.

Great. No problem there. It needed to be done. Say, what you want but kids look up to sports heroes. It was becoming a pharmacy league.

Now, I haven't figured out what these hearings are doing. The Mitchell report was a joke. Baseball turned a blind eye to this period and cashed the checks. They can't even come close to figuring out who took what. They got a few names but I would guess they missed many more than they got.

    Just stupid.
