Got the 4.5 month old blf I'm just itching to get started doing more. She does 95% on the sit, (for a while), come, here, heel is okay, all on a check cord that is loose and hanging.

She dont have much consistent drive on retrieving. Ripping them back today wasn't very interested yesterday. No FF yet (I hope that will change her mind)

I've seen that trainers will CC to here at 4mo. should I do that and do more formal obedience stuff.

She seems mature for the age. She has adult teeth on top and bottom in front and only one canine tooth coming in, still puppy teeth in other three canine.

I'm just wanting to know (without ruining my meat dog) on where to go on the next level from where we are at.

I have Fowldawgs 1&2, Evan Grahams Obedience and Basic Handling, Jacie Mertens Sound beginnings, and the left over from 15 yrs Water Dog by Walters.

If she has been wearing the dummy collar, it sounds like she is ready to progress to cc to here.....

well - she needs to wear the collar for the next 2 weeks - every time you train or go for a walk or go out to have fun...esp in the area or field you plan on doing cc to here...

I'm not Mr. Know but, I have started many gundogs. I first would want to know, what other pressures has your puppy been introduced to. You never mentioned a slip chain (Choke Chain as some call it) or a heeling stick for sit and heel. I personally would not introduce the puppy to a collar until I found that she could handle other pressures first. Like I said I only speak from the experiences I've had. I hope this helps.
