    Default NFL Draft GDG

    It's a long time till fall camps for College Football so here's something for all of us to chew on till then.

    Near as I can tell...this is how it all broke down in the NFL Draft per college conference;

    ACC-35 players drafted
    PAC-34
    Sec-34
    Bigteleven-28
    Big Twelve-29
    Big East-19

    Average number of players drafted per team by conference;

    PAC-3.4
    ACC-2.917
    SEC-2.833
    Big Ten-2.545
    Big Twelve-2.417
    Big East-2.375

    Also....San Diego State had 3 drafted while Washington and Alabama had zippo.

    Doesn't prove anything....just something to hash over for the summer.

    PS....I didn't compile these stats!!!!!!

    All I can say is that the Bears didn't please me, that's all I can say. Oh wait, I can say I think the Cowboys are looking nastier and nastier and are about to deficate all over the top offenses and defenses in the league. If Pacman Jones (whether you like the trade or not) is reinstated and plays, their secondary is going to poo poo all over the top receivers in this league, not to mention you will see more qbs on their backs.

    Further breakdown:
    Alabama - 0 (Zero, zilch, nada, the big goose egg)
    Wheaton College (Division III) - 1 (Andy Studebaker, LB, 6th Round, Philadelphia Eagles)

    That's the legacy of Sonnyboy Shula for you--sure to be remembered as legendary a recruiter as he was a head coach--first time in 40 years the Crimson Tide has fallen completely off the draft board.

    Lets see, 40% of the first 5 players selected in the 1st Round are from the SEC and 40% of the first 10 players selected in the 1st Round are from the SEC!

    Team with the best 08 draft, Kansas City Cheifs.

    Got to love the new 10 minute format!

    And 9% of the first 11 players in the first round were from Troy. Good old Troy, or as a rival used to say, "If you can't go to h*ll, go to Troy."

    Prediction: Booty's namesake will stick and star, unlike big bro' (and big bust in two pro sports), Josh.

    Not only did the Viks draft J D Booty, LSU's QB Matt Flynn went to the Packers. Could Rodgers be the odd man out?

    Aaron Rodgers will be the starting QB for the Green Bay Packers, They drafted Brian Brohm and Flynn, the Packers have a tradition of drafting QB's, just that for the last 16 yrs they haven't needed any of them.

    Where have you gone, Anthony Dilweg?

    No matter, Rodgers No. 1 for a game or two, No. 4 comes back for balance of a Super Bowl-winning season, Rodgers released the day after the parade through Titletown, Brohm heir apparent, and Matt Flynn the next Ray Lucas for the Pack. (No odds given on all this transpiring unless it's on an exacta with the moon being made of green and gold cheese.) Though still wish GB had dealt for J.P. Losman as he was there for the taking.

    With KC's (King Carl's) lack of success with the draft in the past, I was worried when they traded Allen......but after seeing how the draft played out for them I'm starting to like the potential they have to build with.
