    Default Rare Dirty Golden

These pictures are as rare as photos of Bigfoot or Illinois Cougars I'm told.
These are actual, undoctored,or altered in any way, photos of a dirty Golden Retriever.I know I read on here from time to time that they will go in water but I thought that these photos were very rare and should be posted as proof that Goldens will(on occasion) get dirty. The owner had to use nearly all of her bandanas in her mini-van to get the dirt off.
Actually,I shouldn't make fun. This dog kicked my dogs' butt that day.Good job "Rookie".These photos were taken at the DesPlaines,Il hunt test last weekend.

DesPlaines Wildlife is quite swampy..... I bet that golden "smelled" really good, too!

A trip to the groomer probably took care of it.

    Good Job, Rookie!

Congrats to Rookie! I could never have a golden. I'm too lazy and my bursitis would be killing me from all the grooming! Sometimes I don't even hose my CBR down when I get home! LOL

With Goldens, or I should say with the ones that I have owned, the dirt dries up and falls off the coat. Just put on a tie out stake and they are usually fine. If they are still a little dirty, I just find a clean pond and throw a couple bumpers for them. I call it the redneck dog bath.

Same experience here. A proper golden coat (not one of those drag-on-the-floor show dog coats) is really easy to take care of. As you say, let it dry and the mud just falls off. My guys get brushed maybe a couple of times a month, bathed generally only when they find something stinky to roll in, and that's pretty much all the care their coats need.

And anyone who thinks goldens shed less than labs has never owned both. My old lab sheds way more fur than any of my goldens...it's that dense undercoat they have. And that short hair is a hell of a lot harder to get out of the carpet, upholstery, clothes...whatever.

Looks like a good spot to blow out a crutia to me.

The mud falls off my Goldens as well. The get a bath when they do a water retrieve. Like my truck is washed by the rain. My 8 YO has been brushed maybe 10 times.

I used to be in constant awe of Kaye (Culberson at the time)Fuller when she ran her Golden.

It would be Nasty as a pig but when she brought it back for the next series, it looked like it just came out of a Beauty Shop.

LOL, Kaye don't bring no dirty dogs to the line!!!

Proper Golden's come from a long history of proper breeding to Chesapeakes!
