    Default A Beautiful Thing

So I'm driving down this "country" road and have been admiring this pond for a while for training. So happens the "lady" is grabbing her mail from the mail box so I pull in to politely ask if she would give me permission to use for training. Well she said no problem and says I also have 50 acres behind here that you might also like to use with another little pond. She did have horses and was a "Barrel Rider" and was cool to the thought of needing a place to train.

So I said lets get Remi out and throw a mark or two in this pond and see what happens. So I bring Remi out and sit him beside her so I could walk around and throw the bumper.

I walk around, she's got Remi sitting at her side, I go throw the dokken about an 80 yarder, come back and send the dog. She says WOW he actuallly got it. I wasn't concerned that he wouldn't. She says come back anytime...I am so gratefull. She even said her or her husband would be willing to help as a throwers if there around.

There are some beautiful people in this world, you just never know where you are going to find them.

I'm going make her and her husband a batch of my "southern goose bbq" in the slow cooker as a nice gesture.

Great training and have a good day.

I should have prefaced this by saying I live in the "city" and even though I back onto a ravine I have a great place for training behind my house but not much water. So me and my "Carbon" boy have been invited to a new and great spot only 15 min away. YIPPY.

Something very similar just happened to me. I've been eyeing a small pond a few miles from my house for a swimby pond. I saw the folks who live there out working in their garden last weekend, so I stopped and asked if I could RENT their pond for a couple weeks. Once I explained what I wanted to do, they said I could use it for free for as long as I'd like. I don't cook, so I plan to give them a gift card from a farm store to show my appreciation.

    Hey Chris A,

You know what it feels like...I can't believe I found what I did.

I know lots of people have their own multiple acre training grounds and swim by ponds... I'm just happy that I've been invited onto this property to train.

Two ponds and 50 acres of rolling pastures. Yee Haw.

Time to go training ooops its almost dark I'll be out there tommorrow.
