National Amateur Extra Reporting Coverage--Blog

Chris has given me the green light to post that at this upcoming National Amateur, I will be doing some additional reporting in conjunction with the regular formal test updates done by the News.

I'll be doing a several-times daily updated blog, beginning on this Friday with whatever action can be found in local training groups, and then on Saturday with morning training and the meetings...on into Sunday's first day of competition.

Vickie, for some of us "dummies" who are a bit new at this, could you go over or direct me to the schedule of events. I looked at the info online, thought it started on the 15th but guess thay have a few parties to get out of the way before the first serries starts. Thank you for reporting on it. Bud

As soon as I have a link for the blog I will post it.

Bud, pre-Natl training starts in earnest this week, and often many training groups train in and around the area of the National during this week on designated grounds and others they've drummed up. I hear that grounds are somewhat limited this year so a number of groups are training elsewhere and then coming in the end of the week. It isn't so uncommon to train several hours away on good grounds and then head to the National.

On Saturday morning there is usually a brief last training session...at the HQ, gear/shirts/clothing for sale are revealed and handlers get their packets...Meetings take place that afternoon, workers get their schedules and packets, there is a bitch check for the females entered, and early that evening there is a cocktail party.
