    Hello all,
Just started this wonderful dog game again. I used to upland hunt labs years ago and trained them for only my hunting endeavors. I have just picked up Sonny. He is 1 year old next week. I got him from a guy for $30 because he hurt his back and was not going to be able to train him. He is very OB though. Sits, lays, shakes, healing on lead needs work off lead, retrieve desire is picking up the more we do it. Just needed to get him excited about it. Comes good. I want to get him to a level so he can be a good duck hunting partner. will see where it goes. He will have a partner this fall since I am going to buy a started female. Just need to find her. Even if he don't pick up the hunting he will make a awesome family dog. I will be looking for some advice when I hit those bumps in the road when training to learn from others advice. Look forward to interacting with you all.

Check out the HRC website and look for a club near you. You'll meet a good amount of people with lots of experience training retrievers.
