Whelping Services - Eastern U.S.

I'm interested in information regarding whelping services on the east coast. If you know of an experienced person you would trust to whelp and raise a litter, please let me know.

I'm not interested in debating the pros/cons of using such a service as that has been hashed out in previous RTF threads.

I have another suggestion. I contacted local vet techs that I've dealt with. I've watched them in their practices where they work and have talked to them extensively. I'm very comfortable having them whelp my females. Plus they're local so I can monitor the mother and the puppies. I think keeping your litter close is important.

I plan on breeding my bitch in Aug, this means pups in Oct and sell pups in Dec. Kinda wipes out the first half of winter. Last year my wife and I, both retired, went south for the winter and plan to do it again this year so we have arrainged with our trainer, Tom, at www.triplethreatretrievers.com to ship our bitch to him after breeding, he will welp the pups and sell them for us, taking 25% for his share. Sounds pretty good to me, and we are very confident in his ability to welp and take care of our litter. We got the bitch from him. He is located in Idaho, maybe a bit far for you, but I'm sure you could find closer kennels to work with in a simular fashion. Bud

He'll whelp and sell the puppies for just 25%?? Man that's cheap!! Lucky you.....
