Yup a dangerous and thankless job they do. Decades of the fire suppression policy makes it even more so.
What its prominence suggest, and what all science confirms is that the dog is a creature of the nose- A. Horowitz.
Amen, sister. God bless 'em.
That's a great website they made for those affected by or involved with the fire... esp where people have opened their homes, yards, barns to people and their animals...

I heard they're going to let some of the fires just burn themselves out...can't imagine, is that true?!
Scary thought that it's so bad out there when fire season doesn't even start for a couple of months!
We picked up our first FT Lab in Big Sur, beautiful, BEAUTIFUL!!!!
Prayers up for those who are in danger and for the firefighters!

It is simply too large, 107 square miles with our worst rainfall total on record for this past spring. The firefighters top priority is to protect structures, so they must let most of it just buirn in the National Forest. They are protecting the popular Ventana Inn with flames only 200 yards for the deck, and the oldest Buddist Monstery, Tassara where monks stayed behind to protect their property along with firefighters.
www.fs.fed.us for a current map of the fire.
Our 8 months prenant daughter was evacuated a week ago with many others from popular Palo Colorado Road. Any offers to help those firefighters or people affected by the fires are welcome. It grows more huge by the day, and the firemen have their priorities. They have to let some of it burn, and protect their own lives as well as citizens. We are going down to volunteer tomorrow.
