Guess I got to thinking about my life lately in general -- and the memories we make -- how those can be good or bad -- depending on your outlook I suppose -- but recently parted company with a friend -- guess it was that person's wish we try to preserve those memories as good ones -- but being hurt and upset over a number of things (work, family, etc.) I guess I let my pride get in the way -- and now I think I've tarnished those memories -- so it got me to thinking about all of the good things in my life -- all the great memories I've got -- especially from the dogs -- and how we should cherish each and every moment no matter how fleeting
I've included the words to one of my favorite Beatles songs, My Life -- as usual Lennon and McCartney say it better than I ever could:
There are places I remember
All my life, though some have changed
Some forever, not for better
Some are gone and some remain
Oh these places had their meanings
With lovers and friends, I still recall
Some are dead and some are living
In my life, I've loved them all
But of all these friends and lovers
There is no one, compares with you
And these memories lose their meaning
When I think of love, as something new
Though I know I'll never lose affection
For people and things that went before
I know I'll often stop and think about them
In my life, I've loved you more
OK OK with that I now return you to Dr. Phil who today is discussing what the family pet dog can teach us about human relationships.....
