what kind of set up do I need for keeping training ducks? Found a place nearby selling them. I have a pigeon coop thats 3 foot wide and tall and 4 foot long with a wire floor. Do they need water to swim in? Sorry I'm clueless about this. Did some searches but didn't find much. Any pics or tips would be much appreciated.

3 foot by 3 foot by 4 foot will only hold a couple of ducks. They don't need swimming water but they do need a large bowl of fresh water. If you live in town make sure you get the drakes, hens will quack load and often.

I use a 5' X 15' kennel and put a kiddie swimming pool in there and cover on top. Just got done with the last 3 ducks in there.

Hey Richard-- I use a 10x10x6 kennel (with a top) I also have a livestock type water barrel that's about 4'x2'x1' to give them a little swimming water. Works well as I only keep 6 to 8 ducks at the time. Missed you at the tower shoot hope everyone is well.

IF you have a place "nearby" that sells ducks you don't need to worry about housing them.
Pick them up the day before or on the day you're going to shoot flyers. Buy the number of ducks you need, keep them in the crates and shoot them all that day.
Do what ever it takes so you don't have to house ducks.

We "keep" live ducks from when we pick them up in the morning until the end of the first series.
