Just got a text from Shawnna Johnson, wife of Clint Johnson.


They are finishing up with the Port Clinton Super Retriever Series.
1st place Lyle Steinman/River 34
2cd place Lyle Steinman/Rebi 34 time
3rd place Clint Johnson/Savannah 40
4th place Clint Johnson/Rudy 41
5th place Clint Johnson/Hooker 46

It was a great showing by the Arkat guys.

All brought some great dogs and what a great competition over 90 dogs entered.
Clint will be at a field trial at the Tonawanda Preserve in New York this weekend.

I spent a few days here and there over the last few weeks with Clint and family. What a great family.

It is amazing what you can learn by listening and watching. They make it look so simple. Clint and Shawnna are more than willing to share.

It is a reality of life that men are competitive and the most competitive games draw the most competitive men.
That's why they are there-to compete. To know the rules and objectives when they get in the game. The object is to
win fairly, squarely, by the rules-but to win.

And in truth, I've never known a man worth his salt who in the long run, deep down in his heart, didn't appreciate
the grind, the discipline. There is something in good men that really yearns for discipline and the harsh reality of
head to head combat.
