Does anyone know of a good trainer in Louisiana for hunting/hunt test dogs? Specifically one with experience with goldens as well would be great. Thanks

I'm not sure about Goldens but I would try Eddie Sullivan just across the line in Miss...
Ed Thibodeaux near Crowley, La has trained many MH's and hundreds of gun dogs. I read where he won a Q this past weekend. Great guy, with facilities to match. He's trained all breeds.

First dog I can remember Ed running, circa mid '80s, was a Golden named Reba.

Chuck McCall in Gonzales has trained several GHRCH's, MH's and I believe won a Q last year with Boo.
Jay Dufour is in Pine Grove, near Amite, I believe. Jay trains and runs HT/FT's. He was very helpful to me and went out of his way to volunteer some handling tips to me after watching a finished test. Nice to see someone give back to the sport like that and help the new guys out.

Chuck McCall is one of the best trainers i have ever been around ,,,,he reads dogs really well and knows how to get the best out of them . He can be reached at 225-235-7413
ALL mentioned are good but I like Ed, since he was/is my mentor.
Ditto the Golden he has, I did the basics on "Scooter" and he
changed my mind about "FLUFFY" dogs. Even better is his
owner pays the bills on time and is an accomplished surgeon.

What part of La. are you from? A lot of good ones north, south, east, and west.
I second Ed great guy and great trainer.
