He is without a peer. His eloquence in front of a microphone is unsurpassed. His appeal to the masses is phenomenal. He promises the change for which they long. He will improve the economy and, more importantly, will restore respect for the country among other countries. He promises work on new types of automobiles to be affordable to operate by the middle and lower classes. His first book in which he gives his background, his socialist leanings, and his vision for the country is already on bookshelves. But why bother to take the time to read. It is so much easier and enjoyable to be enthralled by his words at rallies or on the media. Even some intellectuals are swayed and persuaded by the beautiful words sliding off his silver tongue. Citizens of other countries join the chorus to elevate this man to the seat of power beyond their borders. When he goes to Berlin, hundreds of thousands throng the park in which he is speaking to urge him on as, in his slick words, one of them.
And so it came to pass on Jan 30, 1933, Adolph Hitler became Chancellor of Germany.
Shortly thereafter, those in Austria and the Sudetenland of Czechoslovakia who pined for Hitler as their leader got their wishes when their countries became part of the Third Reich. And soon, the Volkswagen--the People's Car--began rolling off assembly lines.
Then, however, Hitler took off down that road he had mapped in 'Mein Kampf’ (My Battle) that no one bothered to read. Soon the country he professed to love lay in ruins and in much lower esteem among other countries than ever before.
What? Just two paragraphs ago you thought this was going to be about someone else? Who? You thought it was about Barack Obama? How could that be? Obama does not look like Hitler. He does not have a mustache. Except for the mustache, though, there are some bothersome similarities between the two. Hitler's rise to power was supported by three legs; his eloquence, the support of his NAZIS Party (National Socialist German Workers Party), and possibly the strongest leg, the SA-Storm Troopers-Brown Shirts, whatever you want to call them, a paramilitary leg not subject to the regular General Staff.
Obama is marching on with two of those legs. He has the eloquence to sway the masses. Today, on the eve of the Democrat National Convention, he has the support of the bulk of his party. The only leg missing is an organization of Brown Shirts. Or is that missing? The national media has ignored or hidden an incident in Colorado Springs on July 2 when Obama strayed from his prepared text and ad libbed, 'We cannot continue to rely only on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives that we've set. We've got to have a civilian national security force that is just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded. All references to that startling statement have been removed from Obama's web sites and liberal blogs. But it is alive and well on conservative sites.
What is a civilian security force? What would it do? Would it be there to do Obama's bidding when the Department of Defense refused?
Jews were the target of Hitler's hate. Initially, when he did not yet have the loyalty of the German military, he used the Brown Shirts under the command of his friend Ernst Roehm to carry out his 'final solution'.
As history does repeat itself, could this be a peak under the curtain of a replay with different actors?
The answer in the back pedaling and cover up by the Obama camp is that this security force is intended only for foreign aid assistance outside our borders. That type of assistance is now being given by organizations like the Peace Corps. How would a SECURITY force perform its assignment differently? That question is not being answered.
To give him the benefit of the doubt, he may have been talking about a Public Service Academy to train young Americans for public service through a curriculum similar to the military academies. Such an Academy is being pushed by Teach For America Alumni and General Dave Palmer, a retired Superintendent of West Point. But he did not refer to a Public Service Academy and his spokesmen have not picked up on it.
Mein Kampf was ignored and Germany paid a great price for that ignorance. Obama's two books: Dreams from My Father' (1995) and 'The Audacity of Hope' (2006), are available. Do they hold clues as to what could be expected from a President Obama that are being over looked?
Adolph Hitler promised the moon and used his Brown Shirts to insure that he got and retained the power necessary to reach for the heavens.
Barack Obama is promising the moon to the masses and talks about needing a national security force as well funded as the Department of Defense.
The current budget of the Department of Defense is 439.3 billion dollars. That does not include the billions of dollars added by supplemental appropriations to fund operations in Iraq.
Obama thus wants a new civilian security force funded by 500 billion dollars or more. What will he do with it?
Think about it.
