Can someone provide the reason for the shift in the dates in 2010 on the Corresponding Dates table for AKC events?
For example, the first week on the Calendar is Jan 5-6, 2008, Jan 3-4, 2009 and Jan 9-10, 2010. Why wouldn't it be Jan 2-3 in 2010?

There is info on the corresponding date table on the AKC website
http://www.akc.org/pdfs/Corres_Date_Table.pdf
At the top of the table it says
Corresponding Dates throughout the year are based on the dates of the first Dog Event Weekend. The first Dog Event Weekend
and the first calendar weekend do not always coincide. The first Dog Event Weekend is the first weekend to occur in which Saturday’s date is neither January 1 nor January 2.
Hope this helps

Ann,
I was looking at that last night, also. Trying to figure the dates of our trial and Madison as Dave has a judging assignment with them. Typically ours is the last weekend in July, but It would be nice to know the exact dates. If I remember, a few years ago it was messed up also.
I haven't looked but, I hope this takes our Spring test off of Mothers day weekend.![]()

The West Allis D/Q is held the second weekend in July. In 2009, that puts our trial on July 4 and 5. Bummer. Of course most field trial people are hard core and would run a trial on Christmas if given the chance. Our numbers were down significantly this year and I would think the same would be true of a "independence day trial."
If there are mistakes in the table as printed by AKC, please post so we will know.
