I think it looks very nice. Your pictures of the water are gorgeous and a wonderful addition to your site.

    Hi Chas,
You have a nice website. I am not website designer but I do manage some web developers in our company. We spend a lot of time talking about web marketing.

Also, I just spent two months looking over what seemed like a hundred breeders websites looking for my puppy. Here are a couple of things I looked for on websites and some of the things that would cause me to click away soon or not look very long. I am not criticizing; you have a good website, only offering what I was looking for.

On the Stud page I would have individual pictures of each stud and have the pictures in their best posture. The “look” of the stud was key in my decision.

The second most important think to me was the dams. I like seeing the dams the breeder breeds with. Some breeders I considered showed pictures of dams or sires from other breeders they had a relationship with and use for breeding at times.

I would have a separate link for “litter”. When I saw the link “For Sale” I thought this was just started dogs. If I was looking for a puppy I may have never clicked on this link. Also, the term “for sale” is not the best phrase to use in web marketing.

It seems like you have a “stud” page but also have stud pictures under “the crew” link. I expected “the crew” to be a link to your family not more studs. I may rephrase that link.

There seem to be redundant links. I don’t think there is a need for a link that says “Training Program” and another link that says “Hunting Dog Program”. The latter should be under the first tab only. This eliminates the number of tabs you need on the left side. The less tabs the cleaner the web site look.

What is the “and more” link? Is it more studs, dams or just pictures? As a buyer I want to know. If it is just fun pictures let me know that when I go to that page.

I Googled the name “lavender labs” and your website did not come up. I was referred to a breeder one time and only knew the name of his kennel. He had a website but did not have key words on the pages so that the search engine (Google) would find it. It took me forever to find him. Make sure your website has your name in the source files. Ask a web person to help you if you are not familiar with embedding words in source files.

The “contact us” normally goes at the bottom of the tabs. You want them to be drawn to the other tabs first and then when they are interested they will look for the contact us tab.

Also, make sure your website always works. I was always frustrated when I went to a website, prepared to spend a lot of money, only to find links not working. Your links all work, just sharing that.

Again, I am not criticizing. You asked and this is a large part of what I do in my work and wanted to share.
