    Default Dodging a bullet.....GDG

I'm a DoD contractor and sometimes being one can be very stressful. The project I am on and the lead contractor had to make budget cuts effective today. I did not get cut, but others did.....no real warning other than some grumbles the last couple days.....there are several people out of work today.....

So say a prayer for them and their familes.....it is not a way to end a Friday.

And yes I said a prayer of thanks for still being employeed....

The loss of a job is just devastating - especially if you don't have an inkling that it's going to happen. Good thoughts for those who are now out of work.

Glad you're one of the lucky ones!

I bet David is glad you missed the Bullet. I would feel sorry if David needed two jobs, to keep you in a good lifestyle.

Anything to do with construction is going to be rough for a while. Obviously if banks aren't loaning money, both to developers and consumers, there isn't a whole lot of building going on. A factory that builds scissor lifts (Genie I think) just laid off something like 2,500 workers not too far from here and is in the process of closing down due to sales being down so much for just this reason.

Thankful you didn't end up on the wrong side of the layoffs FOM

A bullet grazed us this summer! Not fun. Anyway now I look at every entry fee in terms of “utils”. How much satisfaction will I get from running that event? It was a good wake up call.
Hmmmm….let’s see – help send the kids to school or run an event?
