Default Forty minutes into the debate....what do you think? GDG

I've been up in the air a little bit (i'm a liberal republican/conservative democrat either or) and was really expecting to see two very "affluent" speakers.

I'm really feeling like Obama talks with doublespeak.

This was not a pre-debate observation. It is from this first 40 minutes.

60 minutes in, haven't really learned anything new.

Wish McCain would have been more direct about the corruption and people in federal prison and brough tup Rezco and how much money Obama has gotten from Fannie May. He missed a zinger there.

McCain is schooling him on the actual Foreign policy stuff.

I agree with you on both parts, i wish McCain would have brought up the F&F issues...and I agree he is spanking him on Foreign Policy but that is to be expected.

overall...I am DISAPOINTED with BOTH...to tell the truth McCain is playing the part of the OLD GUY who has AL-Z-Himer (ah,ah,humm, ummm) and Oboma is playing the part of the YOUNG WET BEHIND THE EARS kid....kinda what I expected.

I think McCain came on much stronger towards the end. He brought up some good concrete points, whereas it seemed like Obama was flopping around like a fish out of water.

Obama on the defense the whole time....McCain hammered him, IMO of course. Obama had nothing new, even seemed to agree with McCain on many issues.

McCain did well. Obama didn't do horrible, I doubt either one of them made too much headway with undecideds and certainly didn't change any minds of those that already had them made up.

Obama could have alienated some of his kook base with his flip flop on now supporting nuclear power and coal.

Obama probably won the first half, McCain the second half.

Chris Mathews....even said this...and the end result of this in his view was that he will loose points becasue of it...

he said that McCain seemed not as presidential as Obama...he never once looked at Obama (which he didnt, i was disapointed about that) and that he often times seemed to be hunched over and schrewed (sp)

but in the end, because he felt that Obama...agreeded tooo much it seemed as if he didnt have any plans or ideas of his own and that would hurt him more..

interesting point of view from MSNBC..

Is Bush running? That seemed to be the Messiah's message - don't think McCain is Bush.
