Good new THEN BAD NEWS

I am pretty much confined to bed but I got a new wheelchair and a Hoyer lift, which is similar to an engine hoist. Total for the chair and lift were about $10,000 and I don't have the strength to transfer without the lift. Today after 3 1/2 years I went outside.

It was snowing.

Oh my gosh, it must have been fantastic to get outside! Pity about the weather, but were you at least able to catch a snow flake or two on your tongue?

Sounds like you have a deluxe new set up. I did not realize that you were confined to bed. Hope you will be able to get around a bit more now.

I hope the chair came with snow tires, chains and/or mud grips at no extra cost. If Bill gets where he has to have a chair it will have to have the mud grips and a dozier blade. He uses his tractor like a dozier.

Seriously I hope that this makes your life more enjoyable and easier to get around.

OH Richard I'm so happy for you now to be able to
see the sky, even if it has flakes!!! Looking at the forecast
you guys will be nearing 50s and even 60s toward the end
of the week. Want to thank you for all the tireless work you have
done with competitive labradors, their pedigrees, and all that
we can glean from your book. . . . great job! Thank you for

I have been blessed with good parents (but poor genetics), good friends,the power of prayer, and a great physical therapist who wrote countless letters to Blue-Cross to get approval for the equipment.

Richard, great to hear that your equipment needs came through! Sounds like you found a great therapist. Will you be able to use the lift to get into a vehicle? Yeah, that spitting snow today sucked, but good for the remaining duck hunters. Weather may have just pushed up our South Georgia departure date a week or so!

I don't know your circumstances but not being outside in that long, snow or no snow had to feel awesome! Congratulations!!
