    Default GDG-Printing Help

I made the mistake of loading the Vista service pack a couple of weeks ago. Everything has worked great except I can't print anymore. When I try to print I get an Internet Explorer Script Error. When I click No to stop running script it still won't print. Here is what is in the error box:

    Internet Explorer Script Error

    Line:1829
    Char: 1
    Error: Unspecified error
    Cod: 0
    URL: res://ieframe.dll/preview.dlg

    Any help is greatly appreciated,

    Tom

I wonder if your printer is not compatible with Vista. I don't know if that's at all possible but I tend to believe anything is possible/impossible with technology.

The printer worked fine before the service pack was loaded. So, I'm thinking it is the service pack that caused the problem. It is not sending anyhting to the printer.

    Try a system restore.

I would reload the printer driver. What kind of printer is it? You really want service pack 1 on there, it cuts down a lot of security problems that they had. Doing a system restore will take SP1 back off the machine.

    TWALL,

I am not sure of how to fix your problem.

Have you Restarted the Machine since Installing SP1?

Just curious if you know how to update your printer driver? If not I can post it here

Well, I did the system restore and the printer now works.

The printer driver was updated and I still got the error. The machine is restarted on a daily basis. The printer is a HP Deskjet. If anyone has any suggestions on how to fix the script error with Service pack 1 I'll try it again. I don't know if the problem was with the printer driver of the update from the service pack. All my wife cares about is that she can print.

Thanks for the help. Any other suggestions will be appreciated. Maybe a Mac in the future. But, I'm sure I'll have this computer way past it days of planned service.

Good news, Tom...hope it continues to work. I bought a new "all in one" today and plan on getting it online tomorrow. Now we'll see if my crack about "get a Mac" comes back to bite me in the backside!

Don't worry Devlin, At HP we don't hold it against you if you buy one of our printers to put on a Mac.
