Default HSUS Friend to Head Dept. of Interior?

The Politico is reporting the leading candidate to head the Department of the Interior (and therefore the US Fish and Wildlife Service) in the next administration is congressman Jay Inslee (D-WA).

Rep. Inslee has not only a 100% voting record with the HSUS but "a bolded 100+%" because he is a prime sponsor on HSUS legislation. What is commonly called a "water-carrier."

Rep. Inslee received large campaign donations from the Humane USA PAC (HSUS) in 2000, 2002, and 2004.

To find out Inslee's record with the HSUS I went to two sites -- one for the Humane USA PAC, and one for the Humane Society Legislation Fund and read the scorecards for the current congress.

To find out if Inslee ever took money from HSUS's PAC, I went to OpenSecrets.Org.

Maybe we'll have a DOI Head that fulfills his job description, like supporting and not fighting conservation of wildlife habitat, including wetlands.

I had heard that past Alaska Gov Tony Knowles was frontrunner for Dept of Interior due to his experience with natural resources of which we have a lot of up here in Alaska, oil-gold-fish etc Bud

If I knew than what I know now I would have missed a few more blocks when we were playing football for the same HS team in Seattle all those years ago.

US News and World Report is reporting today the leading candidates are Bill Richardson, Rep. Jay Inslee, John Leshy, David Hayes, and Brian Schweitzer.

No mention of Knowles. I think Knowles would be a good choice.

    Another red flag!

David Hayes is the attorney representing HSUS in their lawsuit against the Department of the Interior to stop hunting on federal wildlife refuges!

According to the magazine, he is a leading candidate to head up the agency he was suing on behalf of the HSUS. Unbelievable.
