It seems that many of the folks on the left are offended when folks that are moderate or on the right use terms such as socialism or communism to describe some of their political positions. Therefore, I have provided definitions for capitalism, fascism, socialism and communism. If we take an objective look at our current government, I think we can all agree that the current government has elements of all these forms of government. Clearly, we can all agree that there is still a major element of capitalism although it is rapidly being converted to fascism (private economic enterprise under centralized government control) and socialism (ownership and operation of the means of production and distribution by society or the community rather than by private individuals). If we take an objective look at progressive taxation, it is clearly socialist (with all members of society or community sharing in the work and the products). I believe that the folks on the left should be most concerned about the fact that they seem to be unwittingly pushing this country toward fascism (rigid one-party... and ...suppression of opposition, in addition to, private economic enterprise under centralized government control) and socialism (ownership and operation of the means of production and distribution by society or the community rather than by private individuals). Trying to supress political labels only hides the reality.
Capitalism – the economic system in which all or most of the means of production and distribution, as land, factories, railroads, etc., are privately owned and operated fro profit, originally under fully competitive conditions: it has been generally characterized by a tendency toward concentration of wealth, and, in its later phase, by the growth of great corporations, increased governmental control, etc.
Fascism – a system of government characterized by rigid one-party dictatorship, forcible suppression of opposition, private economic enterprise under centralized government control
Socialism -- any of various theories or systems of the ownership and operation of the means of production and distribution by society or the community rather than by private individuals, with all members of society or community sharing in the work and the products
Communism – any economic theory or system based on ownership of all property by the community as a whole

for example California and the ban on Gay mariage when it went there way did we as Americans go protest at every capitol?
BUT when something doesn't go the way the left wants they scream and hollar and try to drive it down our throats.
