What do you think about this dog as a stud?

"I believe in promoting the breed and only breeding dogs
that have these clearances and would not do so otherwise. Yes,
he's been OFA'd, CERF'D, and CNM'd. He has not been EIC tested
yet. I also do not attempt to breed dogs before the 2yr mark
due to not being able to have some of these test."

Bunch of bull. As everyone here knows, OFA will not certify until a dog is 2 years of age. There is NO WAY that you can get the hips x-rayed on November 23 and get the results back from OFA a week later.

Sounds like you've got a very nice dog. I really like the pedigree. I had a real nice bitch by Zip that I sold as a started dog. She's around 2 years old now and has her HRCH, SH and a couple of Master passes. Are you running Master tests or Quals with him? I know you said you don't intend to breed, but if you put an MH on him, get all his health clearances and if he's CNM and EIC clear, there is possibly a market for him as a stud dog. One man's opinion.

I decided to check a bit further - on both OFA's website and the CNM white list, using both the dog's name and his AKC registration number. Well, no surprise here - no record of the dog in either, so hips, elbows, eyes and CNM not certified, contrary to his representation.

True. I got mine back pretty quickly, but it was still at least 2 weeks (had them taken on 8/15, the report was dated 8/25, and got results back a few days later). Results didn't show up on the OFA website for about another week or so (?) though...so that's a total of about 3 weeks for the complete process.

There is no CERF either. Always nice to be able to use databases to verify "ethics". People forget anyone can do that and make sure you use the AKC number if you can get it too in case the name is spelled wrong.

He's obviously lying about his certifications, but give the guy a break. He visits this forum, probably going to be a little embarrased. Which may be good.
