Default Lest we forget Patriotic GDG

67 yrs ago today, the Empire of Japan initiated a dastardly attack on US military forces at Pearl harbour Hawaii. This ferocious, well planned and executed attack by the Imperial Japanese navy resulted in the deaths of 2500 US servicemen, Army, Navy, and Marines, and the beginning of the biggest war mankind has ever known. FDR called it a 'date which will live in infamy', yet in the rush to Christmas it seems to be an almost forgotten date. May God bless all those who sacrificed their lives, their blood sweat and tears to keep America free.

Thanks for reminding us all, Bob. Not a forgotten date in my house. I've been spending some time this weekend watching some new WWII DVDs I just bought, while thinking of my late father and my uncle (one of Dad's subordinate officers, who is still with us and, without whom, my parents would have never met).

God Bless them all, they are leaving us all too quickly. It is unfortunate that we did not get to spend more time with them while they were here.
