Ten points needed for an FC. A win is 5 points. It is conceivable that a dog have more than 10 points and still need the win to title, as the requirement is that the dog needs a win regardless of the number of points it has.

"..only needs an open win....", how many of us have said that? No reflection on the dog, because many good FT dogs go through their whole career and never get an open win although they are competitive week after week. Weren't Super Powder & Esprit's Out of the Woods notable sires needing an open win?

NB, its not just an open win, but an open all breed win. A win at a specialty trial won't do it.
