Default i wanna buy some white bumpers....

whats the best deal? DogsAfield has 'em at $3.79 if i buy a dozen plain whites..., but do i really have to deal with snowflakes dancing on my computer screen???

i usually make my own bumpers, but i like the bright whites for certain situations of course.....

geeze, i felt like i was in a winter liberace concert there.,.....

I get ALL my supplies here, great prices, even better service!! Tell him I sent ya. I like the hallmark bumpers the best, they stay softer when it gets really cold out. Some of the others get as hard as a rock!!

    Thanks,

I have had good luck buying bumpers from GunDog Supply with the rope attached they are a fair price, too. http://www.gundogsupply.com/sofknobplasd.html Hope this helps.

good thought and i will check on the price - but question here for you - have you not found that there ia a certain length of rope that can give you a much further throw???

i have to admit that every time i throw someone elses' bumpers, their rope is toooo short! i am a fairly athletic and stong guy for my age, and with the right length of rope for me i can get about 50 yds+depending on wind. so i question whether a bumper with rope attached will meet my personal specs, so i have to factor in rope costs....

if the rope is too short i am only hitting 20 yds at best....definitely makes a difference if you are throwing for your own dog - but i realize when you have helpers tossing bumpers in the field they just dont need that extra distance.....

I like the softer bumpers too, but some are too soft. I like the Lucky Dog bumpers that Dogs Afield sells (the ones with the valve).

You know I never really thought about the length of the rope until you just asked, but I can tell you that I have ordered several dozen over 3 separate orders so they worked well for me. They are easy to toss and I did not have the hassle of cutting rope for each bumper as I have done with other types. Hope that helps you.

Dogs Afield bumpers and ropes have always worked well for me. Kinda like the snowflakes.

Good deals can also be found at Newman & Bennetts. I have had their bumpers for many years. The valves used to come out regularly and had to be crazy glued back in, but I haven't had a real problem with that in some time. (Mine have been through the dishwasher on more than a few occasions!! )

I have found that the Avery Hexabumpers work well for far throws because of their weight.

I also like the flashers since the black & white make it easier for the marking.

And they are on sale for $3.99 at Gun Dog Supply! That is a great price!
