Anyone ever heard of this dog? Call name Beamer. He's dead now but his seed lives. I'm think seriosly about a pup out of him and an Abes Ebony and Ivory female. Any input would be appreciated.

originally owned and trained by Don and Elaine Erickson

Elaine passed away several years ago, Don gave up the dogs after that, I think Beamer was sold to someone, he was probably 7 ot 8 at the time

    he was yellow, nice dog

Don Erickson lives in Fl now and is again running a young dog. If you will PM me, I will give you his address so that you can talk to him directly.

I bred my EBA bitch to Beamer's dad Casey and produced a very nice litter.
Bobby Lindsey bought a female that was the #2 Jr dog in Canada and
steve Stidham has a female on his truck that has finished 4 or 5 Mater Nationals.

I saw Beamer run in his younger days, Nice Dog.

For over 13 years old, get one with a long 32 inch collar that fits around the groin area. :P

Beamer isn't dead, very old, but not dead. I just saw him last week. He still likes to get a few birds a couple of times a week. When Elaine got sick, Don gave dad (Jeff Talley) partial ownership so that Beamer could continue to run trials. From what I understand he is still partially in dad's name, but he was never sold. He lives at home with Don now in Tallahassee.

If you have ever heard the story of the dog that was sent home early from a National Am because the person running him thought he was for sure dropped with 2 handles, that is Jeff and Beamer. Charlie Hayes had the dog 3 hours down the road and had to bring him back to run the 8th (I think). He went on to finish the National Am that year. The story was all over the blogs while it was going on.

Beamer is a great dog. He lived with us for almost two years, so I can also say a little head strung at times, but a great retriever. I can ask dad and Don more specifics and post them. He is known for his white face. He has had it since he was very young, but it's always made it very easy to find him in heavy cover.

Great dog! Still alive and getting into trouble at times! I will post more info when I find out more specifics.

I remember that. Beamer was know to go walkabout on occasion and was gone several days when the Erickson's were still in Stillwater.Has to be 6 or 7 years ago. It made the papers and news and if memory serves, was found in Wisconsin (yeh he swam the river) by a family and returned. Most thought he was turmed in because of the publicity. I remember it made teh paper when he was returned .
