Here in New York, our politicians may be sleazy, but at least they are honest! Our last Governor did NOT use taxpayer money to pay for his high-priced call girls! The investigation proved it!

Anyway, looks like he got the most out of his fifteen minutes of fame before being dragged off in handcuffs!

In a twisted way, he is very straight-up about being crooked. Like: "Yeah, they are impeaching me right at this moment, so I am going to get whatever I can out of this situation." Wait a minute, isn't that what got him into this mess in the first place?

I was a lobbyist in Springfield back in the early-90s when Blago was a freshman state congresscritter who only got elected because of the influence of his father-in-law Chicago Alderman Dick Mell.

We knew he was trouble back then, he was blatantly dishonest and conducted his political activities in a shady manner. We called him "blabbermouth," because of the difficulty in pronouncing his last name, and everyone knew who we were talking about. He would just stand up and lie, cold, calculated, lie.

I watched unbelievingly as he skipped over the State Senate to get elected to the US House.

Then I watched stunned as he was elected to the office of Governor, not once but TWICE.

For over a decade those of us on the right said he was trouble because we had NEVER EVER seen a politician so dishonest! But all our warnings were just chalked up to "partisanship" by those on the left. Now everyone knows.

I will never again underestimate the ignorance of Illinois voters.
