Default Big Brother wants to know where you drive

Wow only a month and socialism is well under way. Controlling banking, housing, medical care, and now what or how much you drive. You democrats asked for it and I hope you enjoy it.
BTW- anyone see the cost involved with this and do you think such a tax would actually replace a gas tax or simply end up in addition to the gas tax????

The problem with this besides the BIG BROTHER Crud is that when my brother goes to work in Pensacola, FL he drives 45 minutes and covers 5 to 10 miles. When I drive 45 minutes in Nebraska I cover 45 to 50 miles and burn less gas doing most likely.

I am starting to really hate some people.

That would kill areas like where I live. There are not many jobs in Coshocton due to many manufacturing companies closing their doors here and moving elsewhere. Many people drive 40 miles or better to Canton or Columbus to work everyday.

This would be diametrically opposed to a bill introduced by a Democrat Rep. from this region that would offer a tax cut for commuters that are driving from economically depressed areas like the Appalachian region.

Maybe that is what the Obama admin wants. More people moving to Urban areas would mean less "rednecks that cling to guns and religion" when things get rough.

Our government is totally out-of-control and there isn't much we can do about it until 2010. Until then it's every man for himself.

Same here, we are not a "urban city" area and driving is the only way to work or get around. I don't think this is going to go far becasue most of the fools that work in DC live in Northern VA and DRIVE 40-100 miles into work everyday....been there done that

At least the gasoline tax encourages conservation.

Its none of Big Brother's business how far I drive or where I go if I am doing so for lawful purposes. If you haven't read it or haven't read it lately its time to get a copy of 1984 and see what the next 4 years of the 'messiah's' legislative program will bring.

With the BILLIONS that just got appropriated to "infrastructure," we don't need an increase in the gas tax.

This is a mere sliver of the problems we're about to be faced with because of the current administration's aberrant priorities. A maglev train from Vegas to LAX??? Good God almighty, Harry....at least be try to be subtle when you're buying your re-election with OUR money....
