So my wife has made her mind up, she is bringing a kitten into our household. I am not too worried about OB and collar conditioning (Do you think I could make some sort of top ten list if I put those videos of the cats first reaction to the collar on Youtube). FF though, I wonder if I should go with the ear pinch or toe cinch? How about a pencil for the retrieving dowel?

Just keep one thing in mind. I found out while trying to give my daughter's cat a pill, that cats have teeth all the way from their nose to their butthole and they hurt. They won't stop biting till the hand comes out the other end.

You will fall in love with the kitten eventually. While waiting for this to happen, do yourself a favor and don't "roughhouse" with it using your hands. Just like puppies, they need to learn that hands, feet and pantlegs are not chewtoys. Love the kitty - it will repay you with napping on your lap and purring contentedly - very soothing actually.

We threw arounf the idea of adopting a cat but decided that we really wanted the chance to socialize a kitten right. I've been around to many neurotic cats to start with one as an adult.
