I think you guys are missing something really important here...

He's the President. If he says he wants a "rescue" dog, someone is going to "arrange" for a rescue PWD to be found, just in the nick of time.

I also agree that someone will be brought to the White House to maintain the President's family pet. I also think they will arrange for an older PWD so they can milk that for all it's worth too.

I think they should go for a rescue Brussel's Griffon. Now THAT would be funny!!!

The real point in all of this may be that he made a promise to deliver something to his kids before he had the information he needed.

And as if being asked if our dogs are Labradoodles, we now have people coming up to us and asking us if our dogs are Portuguese Water Dogs. Just what we needed!

I would definitely second the griffon suggestion. It's hard to mess them up.
