    Done.

    question on this one though:

    <<<<
Microchips – develop regulations (as directed in the FY06 Agriculture Appropriations bill) that will allow for universal reading ability by pet microchip scanners so that scanners can read any chip and microchipping can be more reliable, affordable, and effective in reuniting lost pets with their families; Note: No concern is stated over animals killed by microchipping, cancer causing problems, and the rights of pet owners to determine the advisability of microchipping.
    <<<<

cant argue with improving and standardizing microchipping - but i have never heard of cancer causing problems or animals killed by the procedure.

Some think microchipping, like vaccinations, can cause injection site carcinomas. My vet told me one story, whether to see me squirm or for real, about a vet who was chipping a small pup, pup jumped, someone wasn't holding right, whatever, but needle hit the wrong spot and caused nerve problems. Could be urban legend but he's not that type, it was something he read or was told at a conference. Anyway, out of the bazillion animals chipped, I haven't read or heard anything with substantiated proof enough to make me not chip.

    Oh yeah, petition done.

There is a single study that found that lab mice may be more susceptible to tumors at the injection site. Couple of flaws....

    1. May....not are.

    2. A lab mouse is bred to be prone to the development of cancer.

    3. The relative size of the chip to the mouse as opposed to other animals was never tested. This may or may not be a variable of significance.
