don't see anything in the article that calls into question the FACT that the majority of Americans favor the stimulus bill. I wouldn't say that it is a *small* minority that opposes it, but it is still a minority.

As it turns out, people across the political spectrum are responding favorably to President Obama and his proposals:

The majority of people voted for him too.
So the majority of people are idiots . so what,,,How does that mean anything

Do you think because the majority of people voted for him that that means its good.
I believe the majority of people who voted for him lack judgement therefore they wouldn't know up from down

I wouldn't trust him to clean up my dog schnit nevermind out government.

I now hope what ever he is planning that he fails miserably because he definitely is not planning on fixing our country. he is planning on making us a more socialistic land where the lazy will sponge off the backs of the worker.

Sorry I don't have a link to prove it

You Republicans have an interesting way of coming to grips with reality.

Oddly enough, the Repubs didn't think that the 'majority of people were idiots' when they were establishing a 'permanent Republican majority'.

You, like Rush Limbaugh, are a 'Patriot'. Not to your country, but to your ideology. You would rather see your country fail than see your ideology fail. Thank God you people are a small minority.

He will succeed in screwing up this country 100 times worse than what it is now and I hope he does not succeed in doing that. I have no Republican idiology. They lack balls and lick liberal ass. They are the same garbage from a different mold.
All I really care about is the country not some idiotic ideology.
obama is an educated idiot. And so are his cronies
I hope their dream of socialism fails

The Rasmussen Reports are interesting. They show that, since the inauguration, Obama's strong approval rating has averaged 40.2% and is now 41%, strong disapproval averaged 22.7% and is now 26%, approval has averaged 60.7% and is now 60%, and disapproval has averaged 37% and is now 40%. I read that as indicating a high degree of approval with a minor, but relatively small increase in disapproval. Are you seeing a different trend?

All of this polling data about approval ratings means jack squat. Hitler was elected as well.

What I look at as far as polling data is the DOW numbers.

For those, bp, that like to pull out charts to explain everything please pull one out that explains why the plummeting stock market is such a great thing.

BP, I do not mean this as an attack at all.
Can you help me understand how all that is happening is good?

    I really don't see it.
And I will read and try to comprehend your answer, because I am missing something here!!

How is it good that the Republican party is in the gutter? It's good because the electorate has thrown them out and brought in someone who is 'analytical' (to quote Sec. of Defense Gates) over someone who acts on instinct (and bad instinct at that). And, given the current trends, it doesn't look like the Republican party is coming back anytime soon (particularly when you have Rush and Steele battling over who is the leader of the party).

How is it good that the economy is in the gutter? It's not good, but we are reaping what the Bush admin has been sowing for the past 8 years (with lots of help from a Republican Congress for most of that time).

The idea that the current economic situation is the fault of an adminstration that has been in power for less than 2 months (rather than the adminstration that has spent the past 8 years sowing what we are now reaping) is another part of the silly stuff that the Republican party is trying to peddle. And no one other than the dwindling hard-core base is buying it.

Obama was elected to bring change. He is bringing it, and the Republican base is screaming about it. Surprise, surprise. Meanwhile, the majority of Americans support him and his performance. That is reality.

As usual, this thread doesn't disappoint those who come for the nasty rhetoric -- it only took a few posts for the Obama/Hitler comparisons. That kind of rhetoric is definitely going to help the Republican party regain the trust of the American people.
