Here is how it is supposed to work.

You earn, let's say, 75K a year. 6,250 a month. your household bills are 6,000. You therefore 250 left over(duck lease, shotgun shells...lol)! You have a surplus! Ok. you have the same income and your bills are 6,450 a month. You are now short 200 a month. You have to cut back. Simple. If you don't, you will likely put your wife, kids or your lifestyle in jeopardy. Most people I know, liberal or conservative would not want to do this. Now , you can blame anything or anyone you want, but the fact is you need more money. Choices: Anothe job or credit, or cut back until the storm is over. Remember, you can't deposit blame in the bank, they only accept cash! If you over extend your credit then you have to face the facts associated with that.
I know this is simple and my question is "Why doesn't our Gov. understand this? Fiscal responsibility. Very simple concept. With this stimulas package, our gov. is over extending itself to a point where it might just break. This is not good for us, our children or our grandchildren. It is time That we stand as a group, a group of Americans and tell by our voting, e-mails, phone call and the sort that we as Americans are not going to stand for this.

Can we stop bickering about leftwing vs. right wind stuff and gain our country BACK! Call or write your congressmen and senators and tell them to bring fiscal responsibility back. If we don't, who ever is footing the bill will own us!

Well, we just had an election and it appears a majority of the nation wants the policies, spending and move toward socialism that we see being made by congress and the current administration, otherwise they wouldn’t have elected them. It appears the current party leadership wants to spend our way into prosperity or bankruptcy. All those that disagree with the current policy can do is point out what we see is wrong, notify our elected officials, point out the errors we see being made, complain if it makes us feel better and prepare to vote in the next election for, hopefully, someone that we agree with politically.

It is called, "buying votes or pandering to the lowest common denominator".

Sorry Martin,

As you state anyone with a little bit of common sense would see what's happening and denounce it. BUT, elections have consequence, and the person that promised ice cream won, and the rest of us will suffer, but not as much as our kids and grandkids will.

But then, Martin, you must understand that the majority of those that voted FOR what is happening, don't pay anything in, they just get back. So they don't see the coming payments due to their children, because they believe they won't have to pay anything in either...only get back from those that ARE paying in.

For lack of a better explanation, it's the rule of the something-for-nothing-crowd, or sheeple, as I'm want to say. While I'm not a member of the SFN crowd, I have become ensnared in the same pen as the sheeple, so I'll be sheared along with the others.

You may decry all the 'bickering', but all your sincerety about changing what's happening will never see the light of day. It has the same empty ring to it that most MOR folks want to believe. Falls into the category along with those that think we can negotiate with jihadists, and talk them out of chopping off our heads.
