    The information below is what I found on Entry Express for the North Texas Retriever Club Spring trial.


    Restricted All-Age $120.000 John Skibber / TBA 4/17/2009 8:00 AM

    Owner/Handler Amateur All-Age $40.00 TBA / Arthur Hermes 4/18/2009 8:00 AM

    Owner/Handler Qualifying $40.00 Shayne Mehringer / Arthur Hermes 4/17/2009 8:30 AM


    What are your thoughts regarding the entry fees?

    What are your thoughts on the TBA judges? They any good?

    No derby?

    I hear the PRTA has proposed a plan to stop the madness. Rumor is every pro from here to Bejing will enter the open with qualified dogs hoping to have the largest open stake in FT history.

    Regardless, is this trial even approved by AKC yet?

    I think I just might enter to enjoy the festivities.

    These are field trials and the people involved largely don't understand a normal day much less a "normal days hunt".

    $ 40 bucks for the Amateur or the Qualifying but $ 120 for the Open ....I dont get it

    I think the restricted is to cheap.

    Rumor was it was supposed to be $150. Or at least I saw that on EE some time ago.

    I think if the PRTA want to "fix" the problem and flood it with entries I say the next trial they make the restricted 500.00 and the OH Am a buck.

    No, I don't like a Friday amatuer start but I'm not going to tell those putting on the event what they should do because it works better for me.

    Whatever the club decides, within the rules, that works best for them is fine with me. If it doesn't work for my schedule. I'll go fishing or something instead. Its not the end of the world.

    I'm a common man, a one dog show, a working stiff too. But there really are worse things in life than missing a trial because I couldn't get off work on Friday.
    Kind of a double standard isn't it?

    GREAT IDEA!!!!

    I hope every PRTA member enters every dog they have up to make it a HUGE OPEN. The club will profit, the PRTA members can sit around and watch each other run and there will still be only 1 winner.

    I personally think it's perfect!!! The Open is too cheap, IMHO....

    Everyone poo,pooed when I suggested a big Open entry fee 4 years ago...

    Times are a chang'n and I think clubs can do whatever they need to do to stop crying and complaining over hosting a trial that kicks their backsides...

    Good For Ed!!! Hope he pulls it off!!!

    PRTA can host a conflicting and charge whatever they want...

    No, I didn't say I agree or disagree with what North Texas is doing did I?

    I just opened it up for discussion since I've heard some rumblings about the entry fee structure intended to limit competition.

    That's why I asked if AKC approved the trial yet. Thinking AKC might view this as just that.

    I thought you were out of it for a few years.
    No doubt. Does that eliminate opportunities to discuss?
