    Default News conference

Did anyone watch that wonderful news conference tonight. I like how the pres never answers any direct questions. He gets puff ball questions asked by his pet news reporters. When he did get a tough question, did you hear all the um's, stuttering and nonsence out of him. I can't wait until this idiot is out in 4 yrs. He way over his head.

we all forget he is a slick talking lawyer and former college instructor so he knows how to spew the BS. the guy is still in campaign mode making promises he cant keep and still blaming everyone else and he still has the country bamboozled. its really scary if you read the transcripts and see that he uses a lot of GDG that sounds good but means nothing

I went to a City Council meeting. Would have liked to watch the Lady Jackrabbits on TV but ESPN apparently doesn't do tiny major teams, even those that are 32-2.

Let the POTUS keep talking, those that work are going to connect the dots & realize his grand schemes require someone to pay.

Watched a preseason baseball game. When is Fearless Leader going to stop blaming W and start taking the credit/blame for his own failures in office?

Well, W went eight years without ever accepting responsibility for anything negative. I tend to think a year is reasonable. You know that if anything good were happening that you would be crediting that to Bush.

Jeff do you ever agree with anything other than the left view? Just going through several threads and you disagree with what is posted in each and every one. Just asking, hell I call a spade a spade when I see one. Do you ever?

I watched and I equate rebuiding the evonomy is like building a house. You need a strong foundation first. You can't start building the roof before the completion of the foundation and the walls.

I feel there are other ways that might have followed bfore borrowing such immense debt.

Actually, I disagree with "left" positions quite often. However, I am most often stimulated to comment in response to knee jerk attacks that evidence either an inaccurate statement of facts (or no facts at all) or where the yardstick used for criticism evidences extreme hypocrisy (e.g., blaming the economic slowdown and collapse under Bush beginning in 2006 on Clinton or even Carter, and then blaming everything that has happened since the election on Obama). I also tend to react to arguments that begin and end with name calling. Calling something liberal, socialist, communist, conservative, fascist, etc., etc. does nothing to advance an argument by itself. Typically these words are used to elicit an emotional reaction when reasoned arguments fail. Similarly, saying that Obama, or liberals "hate this country" is clearly rediculous. In fact, I tend to suspect that those making such statements would have been the first in line at Tory tea parties during the revolution.

I am not crazy about the stimulus actions taken to date, but I don't disagree with the approach taken. I think the actions taken to date are much better than doing nothing and infinitely better than implementing permanent tax cuts as proposed by the minority.

I tend to feel that Obama's current budget proposals for the next ten years would do as much damage to our economy as Bush's budget activities did over the last eight years. I complained about deficits during periods of economic growth under Bush and, if our economy begins to grow again, I will complain if deficits continue under Obama.

The Obama administration has implemented a number of different programs to date -- a remarkable number given that he has only been President for two months. There are many legitimate issues with the programs implemented so far and those he has actually proposed for the future. Those should provide a lot of fodder for debate. Why argue about things that haven't been suggested or proposed by the administration (e.g. HR 45)? On health care proposals, why not say exactly what is wrong with Obama's proposals rather than trying to argue whether or not it is "socialized medicine", which means absolutely nothing (as I have noted before, I believe we already have socialized medicine)?

If it looks like I am always liberal, it may only be because the basis for comparison is this forum.
