Power Grab!??!!
John Hughes And Roger Runningen – 1 hr 3 mins agoAfter his administration forced GM Chief Executive Officer Rick Wagoner to resign and pressed Chrysler to form a partnership with Italy’s Fiat SpA to get more taxpayer aid, Obama today said that company creditors, shareholders, workers, dealers and suppliers will be expected to make more sacrifices.

Apparently the Chrysler/Fiat deal was already in the works, and the administration was giving it a kick in the butt.
Would appear that they have learned a lesson about the brouhaha created by the AIG bonuses to executives, i.e. not enough strings attached to the government money.
Supposedly Wagoner's days were going to be limited anyhow as GM's performance on his watch had been dismal. While question was raised as to whether changing CEOs when facing Obama's 60-day deadline for "shaping up", the individual taking his place (at least temporarily) is the CFO, which is the position Wagoner held before becoming CEO. So, it's not as if someone is taking over who is new to the company and its operations.

Obomo's team is now going to oversee GM!
They don't want to run the company yet, they asked the CEO to resign. They also want control over what GM builds.
This is pure & simple Socialism!
Look for officers of the UAW to be new GM board members since the UAW is the ony entity not asked to make concessions.
Goodbye GM after another 30 billion additonal tax dollars thrown away by the new Socialist in DC. No way will GM in the future be able to stand on its own with the Feds and UAW running the show. Nor, will I ever buy another GM product as long as it is run by the socialist.

I tell you what though the new Challenger is a bad looking ride....be nice to see the new Camaro next year as well...of course both will have to be retrofitted with electric motors and a top speed of 45 mph, but still........

I thought we needed fiscal responsibility. No bonuses, no jets for corporations, no whatever...well that only applies to the private sector I guess.

Keith what does tha number come from and is it out of the morm for an overseas trip. I know there is a lot of military etc... involved. I know I just saw a discovery channel story on AF1 and a trip to Africa. They had about 100 people that had to show up a week in advance to do security and make sure everything was "ready". That did not include the 2 air crews and regular security or press.....
Seems like a lot but is it more than normal?

What I heard from folks who track the travel data is that the number is about 200 more than normal. Secret Service make up about 1/2 of the number. The others...who knows?
So I gues it is...abnormal?!

Interesting, Europe is not exactly a hostile place so I would guess the security would not need to be increased....
Be nice to see who he is taking..... Maybe Barny Frank is going so he can meet a real queen
