    Default Remote Dummy Launcher recommendations

Does anybody out there have any recommendations/suggestions for remote dummy/bumper launchers for a guy with one dog he is trying to train to be a good duck dog and possibly take him to some field tests to see what he can do despite his amateur trainer.

Zinger Winger wingers, Gunners Up wingers- bumper boy will all do the job. You will need a tritonics or dogtra release system. Bumper boy has its on transmitter receiver.

as an amateur trainer myself, I bought two Bumper Boy Derby doubles and a remote gunner's up (BB reciever). They work really well. Since I train most of the time by myself. Now if you like to throw birds, get GU launchers with remote electronic's for all your gun stations. Advanced sound is a must, especially with the remote GU (standard sound won't control the launcher).

Since these systems seem to hold their value well, if I & my pup become total washouts, we can get some of the money back!

If it is a dummy launcher you want there is really only one choice and that is Bumper Boy. They only launch bumpers. If you are also talking about wingers that throw both bumpers and birds then I would look into Gunners Up, Zinger Wingers, Of the Days end launcher

I have two four shooters with sound. One thing about them is if you train alone and a young dog gets in trouble you can fire another bumper to help them out.

I haven't owned the others so I can't comment on them.

You can also use Bumper boys and put ducks where the bumpers will fall. The dog sees a bumper and gets a bird when it gets there. Of course you have to watch how you set things up so your dog doesn't have to run past one station to get to another if you have ducks or bumpers left at the first station...

You can set up the BB transmitter to fire a winger if you buy another receiver from BB or hook it up to one of your other BB receivers. Saves some money and more importantly the confusion of using two different transmitters if you're using BB and a winger.

You might want to check out Thunder Equipment www.thunderequipment.com. It is competitively priced, extremely easy to use, less expensive to operate, requires no maintenance, and uses Tritronics or Dogtra electronics which can be used on wingers or other training devices.

Ill second the thunder 500. I have 3 bumper boys but if I buy anything else or had to do it over again I would definately go with the thunder 500. They are a little bulkier than the derby doubles, but you get 5 bumpers. They are very sturdy and no small wires to nick/cut, easier to load/unload, a vast improvement over the old etch marc models...

May want to get a quad to help you carry all this stuff around! I have wingers, and BB's and train alone. The best investment is in another person, a neighborhood kid, latch key etc dogs learn so much better with a thinking thrower/gunner in the the field.

You'll need to set up stickman, at your launcher stations, at least chairs to mark em for your dog some guys put ballons up on the frame of your wingers, can't do that with a BB. Good thing its tax time you may have a return to burn on dog training tools.
