Default PROMISES, PROMISES: Obama tax pledge up in smoke

    http://www.breitbart.com/article.php...show_article=1

    By CALVIN WOODWARD

WASHINGTON (AP) - One of President Barack Obama's campaign pledges on taxes went up in puffs of smoke Wednesday. The largest increase in tobacco taxes took effect despite Obama's promise not to raise taxes of any kind on families earning under $250,000 or individuals under $200,000.

This is one tax that disproportionately affects the poor, who are more likely to smoke than the rich.

To be sure, Obama's tax promises in last year's campaign were most often made in the context of income taxes. Not always. "I can make a firm pledge," he said in Dover, N.H., on Sept. 12. "Under my plan, no family making less than $250,000 a year will see any form of tax increase. Not your income tax, not your payroll tax, not your capital gains taxes, not any of your taxes."

    Cool

Good for him. Maybe just maybe we will have more funds for children without health care coverage.

Taxes will go up for everyone, not just the nicotine junkies. Only the gullible beleive that he won't raise taxes on those families earning under 250k.

Remember, this guy's history is, "say anything to get a vote" even if you don't mean it.

How original. You are soooooo clever, bet the entire cast of posters here are just overwhelmed by how scholarly you are. The POTUS must be so proud to have you as one of his vassals.

But please enlighten us with your real name, so we can pay homage to someone that MUST be a true social worker for the good of the children. Surely you will want to inform us of all the loot you intend to swell the IRS coffers with very soon...of course, for the good of the children.

I've never smoked and I can't imagine how anybody can afford a one-pack or two-pack a day habit. What's a pack of cigs cost...$6 or so.
