If you were looking for a great chocolate stud who would it be or if you were looking for a black stud that throws chocolates?
First define great. Are we talking about genetics, titles or qualities? Or overall with all 3, which is where I think your going.

Oakwood's Dora Duky Desire MH- (Dora) 3/3/03- 3/16/11
Desire's Midnight Rose SH- (Rose) 1/29/08
Desire's Big Launch MH (Rocket) 9/29/09
Desire's Pine Ridge Lonesome Gus MH (Gus) 9/29/09
It's also important to know whether you are looking for a live breeding or are prepared for a frozen AI. FC AFC CFC CAFC Barracuda Blue MH is a great chocolate stud (now dead for many years) whose owner is great to work with. He has produced three field champions and a huge number of other hunt titles. FC AFC Tiger McBunn and FC AFC High Tech CEO are both tri-factored blacks (they are ittermates) that have solid track records of producing strong, healthy titled pups. These three are only available through frozen AI.
If your female is an EIC carrier or you are not prepared to produce carriers in your litter, you will be more limited. The only FC titled chocolate factored stud I know of that is tested EIC clear is FC AFC Land Ahoy (Pirate).
I'm looking for all 3 and EIC Carriers don't bother me at all. I would prefer natural breeding. I've trained an EIC affected female, only been down twice in her life and that was with a lot of pressure. I wished I could have 10 more dogs like her.
FC HRCH Watermark's Texas Welcome MH "Howdy" throws chocolates, and is EIC clear as well.
Challenges can be stepping stones or stumbling blocks. It's just a matter of how you view them.
I don't know what tickles your fancy but here are a few to consider:
FC-AFC Barton Creek's O Mustad, black/ch
AFC Coolwater's Ready To Go, black/ch
FC-AFC Its About Time Baby Blue, black/ch
FC-AFC Cuda's Blue Ryder, chocolate
FC Free Spirit Par Shooter, black/ch
Sir Winston Of Oak Hill ***, chocolate
Heidl's Mallard Machine MH, chocolate
Wing Magic's Louisiana Roux MH ***, chocolate
Way-Da-Go Call Of The Wild ***, chocolate
CFC Gunner, Flight Interceptor SH, chocolate
HRCH Gator Point's Bayou Chopper, chocolate
HRCH Rouxs Blazin Chocolate Thunder, chocolate
Peakebrook's Bakers Chocolate SH, chocolate
Soggy Acres Desert Fox SH, black/ch
Please do not do a breeding that produces affecteds. Yes I had one that to our knowledge never had a collapse episode. We also had one that would start an episode just going for romps in the woods off lead. There is no way to predict how an affected will react or what triggers it...some collapse at feeding time. My affected that collapsed was sired by Gates out of a full sister of our non-collapsing male affected.
