Fish Oil???
I was recently at the local zoo and was talking to one of the zoo keepers while she was feeding an ocelot. She mentioned that they add fish oil to the food to help the cats coat shine and look better. Has anyone ever used fish oil for their dogs coat? and is it the same as the fish oil they sell for humans?

Yes, I use regular Fish Oil Caps. Just throw one in their
evening meal. My oldest Chocolate didn't have a very
good (thick) coat. He has a very shiny coat now and
his coat is thicker.

My 9 year old choc. started getting dry flakey skin earlier this winter, started giving her one capsul with each meal, and it helped alot with her skin and her coat looks better.
I give them Fish Oil, or Flax Seed Oil Capsules, or the combo: Flax, Fish & Borage Oil Capsules. Honor's coat can get dry, as it is one of the very water repellant types, and it helps keep it shiny.... I also give it to my chocolate.

Studies in humans have shown fish oil, to aid in brain function, especially noted in the elderly.
Why not use in our dogs, no harm.
Field trial labradors, the wind beneath my wings,
sometimes poop under my boots.
Salmon oil, all my dogs get it and they have no skin or coat problems.

I was never sure if it was just a wives tale or not, but my dog always gets the skin when we have salmon.
P.S.-He does have a shiny coat
