Some employees are simply irreplaceable.

Take Michelle Obama, for example. The University of Chicago Medical Center hired her in 2002 to run “programs for community relations, neighborhood outreach, volunteer recruitment, staff diversity, and minority contracting.”

In 2005 the hospital raised her salary from $120,000 to $317,000 — nearly twice what her husband made as a U.S. senator. Oh, did we mention that he had just become a U.S. senator? He sure had.

Requested a $1 million earmark for the UC Medical Center, in fact. Way to network, Michelle!

But now that Mrs. Obama has resigned, the hospital says her position will remain unfilled. How can that be, if the work she did was vital enough to be worth $317,000?

It's obvious to me that Ms. Obama was SO efficient at her job that she did almost 3 times the work annually as expected and so all the work for the next 6 years or so is already done!

Can you imagine of she worked there full-time? If she was worth $317K/year working 3 days per week... what's 40 hours a week worth!?

I wish they would just replace her in general. As much as I don;t like bho I tase vomit in my mouth every time I see her on TV. I could make it through 4 years of bho sort of, but really get sick every time i see that .........

Wonder what she had to give him to secure that earmark.

Heard that a poll by Chicago Tribune showed now that Ms Obama has basically stopped speaking on the issues and more or less confined herself to "hostess duty", her 'approval" ratings have gone up. It said that she appears to deciding what her "cause" will be in this administration.

Sounds like she's following the lead of her husband in trying to hide her "true self/feelings" to get ahead in popular opinion.

You might ask the same of many in the financial industry. Many attorneys and coporate exec's earn this type of money. Business as usual, get over it.
