14 years ago i was talking with a vet-duck hunter friend of mine about how i couldn't find the lab i wanted(i was real picky). When i asked what he knew about springers, he simply told me to go around the corner and pick a pup from his litter of labs. When i rounded the corner, there you were. There were 11 other pups piled up, but all i saw was you. I knew at that moment, you were what i had been looking for. After i spoke for you, 4 other people put their names on the list just in case i changed my mind. But they had no luck. You were for me. I wanted a big lab, but had no idea how big you would be. 80 pounds at 7 months, 95 at a year. You once "told" me "hey dude, you wanted big". That was right after you jumped out of the canoe into the ice cold river chasing the deer that swam accross behind us. The boat flipped and i froze. I was mad as possible then, but laugh about it now. You were my only hunting buddy, went every where with me, brought anything and everything to be fetched, laid your head or paw on my leg when I was down. You have been my best friend for the last 14 years. I was supposed to take care of you, but really, you took care of me. Rest in peace my fine friend. I will see you again.
