ROLL TIDE!
Yet another politician that learned NOTHING from Nixon.
Nancy Pelosi is a liar!
Where do we go without great leaders for the defense of our liberties? Who will defend our right to live our lives _as we chose_ without others taking that from us? The answer is, as it should be, no one. We are the defense of our rights and should always remember that. Libertarian blogger
NP says that in the 2002 meeting that she attended the agency described the procedure, but she didn't understand that it would be (or was being) used. She is either a complete idiot, lying beyond comprehension, or totally incompetent if she didn't understand the nature of the briefing.
More briefings were held, that by her own account, she did not attend. If that is true, why wasn't she in attendance? Wasn't it a part of her job and duty?
She is now accusing the CIA of lying to her. My personal experience in briefing congressmen and staffers tells me that this is highly unlikely. Again, in my experience, EVERY effort was made to ensure factual information was relayed in a way that it could not be misunderstood or misinterpreted. Also, why in the world would the agency lie to NP when it is not being disputed that other congressional members, dems and republicans alike, were being explicitly told that waterboarding was being used in some cases?
From the article:
"Pelosi contended that Democrats did what they could to stop the use of waterboarding. The senior Democrat on the Intelligence Committee, who received the 2003 briefing on the practice, sent the CIA a formal letter of protest, she said. "
"But Pelosi defended her own lack of action on the issue, saying her focus at the time was on wresting congressional control from Republicans so her party could change course.
"No letter could change the policy. It was clear we had to change the leadership in Congress and in the White House. That was my job — the Congress part," Pelosi said."
I won't comment on the statements quoted above, but I will repeat: she is the poster child for term limits.

Interesting it took her so many days to come up with the "It was everybody else and not me answer" I wonder how much they pay people to help our unreps to talk out of both sides of their mouths.
