    Default Cut on Back

Had my dog out at the lake just fishing and messing around. After she was swimming around I noticed a cut on her back. I think it was a week or so old not sure how I missed it. Anway with the water and everything the scab pealled away and I got a good look at it.

Should I shave the hair around this area, not sure if that will help it heal. She had hot spots a few times and this is what they do for this.

shaving won't hurt - and will help to keep the area dry....a little antibiotic and it should heal pretty quickly.

We live on a sm farm with lots of barb wire fences and our labs get cuts on backs once in a while-- we most times use purple ointment we have for horses-- never a problem.
