"James W. von Brunn holds a BachSci Journalism degree from a mid-Western university where he was president of SAE and played varsity football.
During WWII he served as PT-Boat captain, Lt. USNR, receiving a Commendation and four battle stars. For twenty years he was an advertising executive and film-producer in New York City. He is a member of Mensa, the high-IQ society.
In 1981 Von Brunn attempted to place the treasonous Federal Reserve Board of Governors under legal, non-violent, citizens arrest. He was tried in a Washington, D.C. I'm not sure where you are getting information that he is a socialist, unless you are talking about the Nazi variety.

As I said, unless you are talking about the Nazi variety. Nothing in his writings, as quoted on the site you reference, suggests that von Brunn had any allegiance to socialist or "leftist" ideals. For as long as there have been fascists, people have argued whether fascism was leftist or rightist. I believe the correct answer is neither; it is totalitarian and statist, but evidences no concern about social equity. It actually is more of a throw back to aristocratic notions of feudalism which seems pretty consistent with von Brunn's leaninigs.
If there is any link between von Brunn and "conservatism" in the US, it would have to rest on the fact that conservatives have allowed themselves to be associated authoritarians and with bigots and those wanting to "purify" our culture. Of course, those same people ignore the fact that our culture was diverse in the 18th century and has remained diverse and changing ever since despite xenophobic moments of hysteria as monoculturalists foretold the horrors of the yellow menace, the black menace, the hispanic menace, the Islamic menace, or maybe even the martian menace. Von Brunn definitely draws his "inspriation" and support from the ranks of the xenophobes.
First, this guy is a nutjob plain and simple, as is anyone who commits violence in the name of a political cause, This includes the far left who advocate violence in defense of environmental issues. To label this joker a leftist is absurd, virtually everything that is known about him points to his political leanings being far right. Well isn't that ironic. You accuse conservatives of allowing themselves to be surrounded by bigots and those wanting to "purify" our culture when the very roots of the American eugenics movement (forced sterilization of "undesireables" for the benefit/"purification" of society) sprang out of the soil of liberalism, watered and tendered by a who's who of American liberals.
And speaking of the various multi-colored "menaces"...minimum wage laws in this country were pushed by labor unions/leftists as a means to make the white workers price-competitive with the yellow, black, brown menaces. So let's not pretend that conservatives are the only ones with some racist skeletons in the woodpile. The biggest flaw with conservatism is that they didn't/don't get to write the history books; liberals did/do.

My comments concerning the current links between conservatives and some of the cultural purity bigots is a comment of what I believe is a misguided political tactic that has nothing to do with conservatism as a belief. In much the same way, the alliance between Democrats and Southern Democrats was a tactical alliance while it lasted but ended up undermining the Democrat's overall commitments to civil rights. Hubert Humphrey's greatest claim to fame was to reject that alliance leading to the walkout of southern democrats from the 1948 convention. The Eugenics movement of the 1920's was a lot more complex and derived more from a view that science would conquer all than from any specific ideological orientation. That too was an era when "conservatives" were calling for a closing of our borders to keep out those dangerous hordes from Ireland and Italy along with the Bolsheviks who were sure to follow.
