prevention for ears

i know there have been a lot of posts on treatment of ear infections, but this question is strictly what is best for a daily application after water work for otherwise healthy ears to prevent any issues ahead of time??? its the beginning of the really dead summer heat, ponds will be shrinking and stagnating, and we are swimming a lot and my dog leaps and submerges when he hits the water........

is a capful of rubbing alcohol as good as anything?

I use "swimmers ear" . I get it from my vet, and is not expensive.

This is a formula that has worked for me for over 30 years.
Mix three parts white vinegar to one part rubbing alcohol. I use old 35mm film vials. Put ½ cc per ear.
This time of the year most of our training water can get a build up of algae. I have not had an ear problem since using this.

I've been using OtiRinse for over 4 years and it works for us...it's also great for pre-medication cleansing for yeast infections in the ears when one does pop up.
