BHO is now going to help a brother out by giving a tax break to trade in the 64 on a new fuel efficient sled. Isn't this the same thing as the Community Reinvestment Act only for cars???

Just another half-assed idea from the current administration!
How will the Feds verify the trade-in since it is to go directly to salvage yards for scrap? Will salvage yards be able to sell folks vehicle VIN numbers so they qualify for the money? 22mpg's in not exactly an ideal target if they are serious about getting more cars with better gas milage on the road.
This is nothing more than an attempt to help those driving hoopties buy a new car with the Feds providing the downpayment.
It won't work because, those driving old gas burning hoopties probabaly won't have good enough credit to get financing on a new vehicle. Then there will be the scam of VIN number selling to those who could qualify for a new car loan.
Where do we go without great leaders for the defense of our liberties? Who will defend our right to live our lives _as we chose_ without others taking that from us? The answer is, as it should be, no one. We are the defense of our rights and should always remember that. Libertarian blogger
Do you think this CEO woud ever part with his "Sled" for a "Tax Credik"????
